Live demo
Runs in your browser.
That gives you written text you can read during a meeting, search later, copy into a reply, or translate into another language.
WhatsApp keeps voice messages inside the chat, so you use the share menu to send one to another app.
Press and hold the voice message in the chat and tap Forward. Tap the share icon, then pick KolWrite to import the recording for transcription.
Press and hold the voice message to select it, then tap the share icon at the top of the screen and choose KolWrite. The file opens in KolWrite the same way.
Save the voice message as a file, or export the chat with media from your phone. Then upload the audio file to KolWrite in your browser or the desktop app.
Listening to a two-minute voice note always takes two minutes. Reading the text takes seconds, and you can search for it later.
Read the message right away when you are in a meeting, on a train, or up late at night, instead of waiting until you can listen.
It is easier to act on instructions, addresses, numbers, and names when you can see and copy them.
Transcribe a message from a relative or client in their own language, then translate it into a language you read.
Share the voice message from your WhatsApp chat and select KolWrite.
Choose the spoken language or let KolWrite detect it automatically, then start the transcription.
Read through the text. If a name or number looks off, tap that line to hear the audio again.
Copy the text into a reply or note, translate it, or leave it in KolWrite so you can search for it later.
You can also run everything KolWrite does with a recording through our API. Send the address of an audio or video file from your own code or an AI coding agent, and you'll get back the transcript with word timings, speaker labels, and an SRT file if you request one.
The JSON output gives you the start and end time for every segment, plus individual word timings on models that support alignment. Turn on speaker separation to include a speaker label on each segment.
Pass output_format as srt if you want subtitles directly from the API. If you are using the Oracle models, you can also set translate_to to get the text back in another language.
The API console publishes plain-text instructions for an agent to read before writing code. This includes agent-instructions.md, along with llms.txt, which links to the full reference.

WhatsApp offers built-in transcripts on some devices and in certain languages. KolWrite is useful when you need support for Hebrew, Arabic, or long recordings, or when you want speaker labels, translation, export options, and a way to search across your messages.
WhatsApp uses Opus audio, usually saved with an .opus or .ogg extension. KolWrite takes these files directly from WhatsApp without needing conversion.
Yes. KolWrite transcribes over 100 languages, including Hebrew and Arabic, with proper right-to-left text alignment.
Yes. First transcribe the message in the original spoken language, then translate the text into any language KolWrite supports.
The message goes only to your KolWrite account, where your recordings and transcripts are encrypted. We never use your content to train AI models. Please ask the sender for permission before transcribing someone else's message.
Find the longest voice note in your chats, share it to KolWrite, and read it in a few seconds.
